Bigbít

Pronounced „big beat“ the Czech term „bigbit“ doesn’t have the same meaning in both languages. In Czech, music with a good beat and wailing guitars is what they are talking about — we would just call it rock or even classic rock. That is because the term big beat (also „big band“) refers to the music of such luminaries as Glenn Miller. On the other hand, according to wikipedia, big beat is a term invented in the 90’s to refer to groups „combining elements of dance and rock music“. I don’t agree. Just consider that Jim Morrison of the Doors refered to Texas Radio and the Big Beat way back in the 60’s.
