This is a useful word when driving an automobile through Prague. When the guy in the Octavia whips past you, barely missing you as he chats on his mobile phone, you should call him „Blby“ or „Blbec“, which means something like moron, idiot, or imbecile. Years ago there was a BBC corresponded here who’s last name was Bowlby. This was unfortunate, since when he called people to ask for an interview, they thought that he identified himself as an imbecile, „Dobry den, tady Bowlby“. While this isn’t the best way to get access to important people, it at least is a refreshing change from what one hears of most journalists.
