Even the simplest of spelling errors can cause us all to scoff. Clearly the translator meant to write “leash”, a rope that goes around your dog’s neck. Unfortunately, we have the word leach which is the process of removing excess salts and minerals from the soil by a series of repeated flushings with water. Considering the way dogs seem free to poop where they will in this city, it may not be a bad idea to remove their excess salts and minerals by flushing them with water — it seems more sanitary. At least the translation didn’t turn out “leech”, which would be a funny sight. Imagine every dog being required to ride around on top of bloodsucking parasites — or is that the job of governments?
