The Czech history of milling is long and noble. It lasts up to this day. Watching Czechs play hockey, football (soccer for us Americans), or tennis you can expect they will win. When the win big, Czechs might say “uz je melou”, which is a wonderful phrase meaning “it is already ground up” or they have won overwhelmingly. This comes from the Czech verb “mlýt” (to grind) which is conjugated irregularly. Do not confuse it with “meloun” which is either a melon or a million.
